The Rediculous Kazuma Dingo gas tank
#1
Been a while since I posted. My Dingo has been sitting for a couple of years, but I recently decided to revive it, remove the racks and make it a sport quad for my son. I bought a new Japanese Kehein carb since the quad wouldn't run right before.
The new carb made the quad run great for a while but then it would bog down and not take any throttle. Turns out there was water in the tank. I'd drain the tank completely, refill, then the same thing would happen again. Eventually I figured out that there's almost a pint of gas on the opposite side from the outlet that never gets used, two low spots in the tank on either side of the hump. Stupid design. I had water in that section that would move over to the other side when bumped around. Had to remove the tank and drain completely to fix the issue.
Not sure where the water came from, but it's gone now.
The plastic where the cap screws on is cracking apart, so I have a new tank on the way anyway, but just had to share this strange design.
