Default play in gear shifter, doesnt seem to catch

to whom ever may have some answers

hey guy i have been working on this frankenstien bike and its going pretty good, i now seem to have clutch working. I had the clutch cover off a few times and was looking at the gear selector it seems not to catch the way it is suposed to. I seen somewhere in here i think of someone haveing a similar problem. He said he had play in the shifter and did some shiming. Well im going to be taking it apart again today and see whats up, i will get some close ups of whats going on.

thanks ahead of time

these round catches is what it is slipping instead of catching. but when i turn them by hand it does not switch the gears either right now it is stuck in reverse and i dont know how to manualy shift in the case {is it possible?}

If you turn that drum(the thing with the round catches) by hand it still doesnt shift gears... Something is more than likely broken inside..
