Starter/ worm gear?

There is an ad for an atv, but the guy said the only problem is the starter/ worm gear needs some work. Whats he mean by that? What is a worm gear?

I'm sure he is talking about the drive gear on the front of the starter. can you contact him to check and make sure?

He's talking about the starter bendix. It's a cheap, easy part to replace...if that's actually the problem?? If it is a starter issue, bendix or needing a rebuild....either way relatively cheap and easy to do.
