Default Want to adjust valves on a 2005 Sportsman500 HO

How hard is it to adjust the valves on a 2005 Sportsman 500 HO. Bought it used, has 2100 miles on it and they have never been adjusted. Anybody that can give me step by step instructions or know of where I can find them on this site would be great. Also looking to change the drive belt.
Thanks

Not sure on that particular model, but the hardest part on my old 325 and 330 was lining the timing mark up in the pull starter. Had access ports on the head to get in and adjust them.

Belt is pretty easy. Hardest part is getting to the bolts on the bottom of the cover by the foot wells.

Pretty sure someone that has done that model can chime in and give you more info on it.

Easiest way for me is to pull plug, valve cover, and 14mm plug on recoil housing. Pull rope and as intake valves go down and begin to go up,use a flash light and you will se an "inverted" T on the flywheel that lines up with the case pointer which is TDC. Then you can check intake and exhaust valves,.006 clearance on both intake and exhaust valves. Best to use 2 feeler guages on the exhaust since its a double rocker arm to help keep it adjusted correctly. IF you cant see the "t" on the flywheel you can pull the cam sprocket plate and the index pin on the cam has be straight up,center of the head, this is TDC. OPT
