Default Suggestions please

I have a 2003 Trail boss 330.....I am waiting on my clutch puller to arrive to get into the gear case thought I might get some input from ya'll......my problem is:

Reverse....Locks in fine...all the power in the world.....but Forward...Grinds like a DEAMON, no power, I can hold the bike in place. Let the Bike go and it will move, but any added throttle and the grinding returns. Back off the throttle and the grinding stops.

any thoughts on what I should look for when I crack the gear case open?

Thanks

have you tried to adjust the linkage?? it might just be out of adjustment where you can hold it in and not have it grind.

Yeah I monkeyed with the linkage....made it longer and shorter. But no difference. That is what leads me to believe it is something in the gear case.

I had reverse go out in mine and was something as simple as a circlip. But it didn't have any grinding noise.

Honestly sounds like it could be more than just a simple fix.

Have you drained the tranny fluid to see if there's any metal in it?
