Default Speedo problem - Sportsman 700

Anybody know of a common problem with the speedo on the 700? I have a 2004 700 and the speedo quit working this weekend. I pulled it on a trailer for about 130 miles and after unloading it it wasn't working. Worked fine before the trip. Wanted to ask before i bought a new sensor???
Thanks!

Check to see if the AWD is also not working. I think on that year they are combined. That way you will know for sure if the speedo is bad or the speed sensor. Also, Did you check all the connections because it sounds like maybe when it was on the trailer something came loose.....

The AWD is working fine? I couldn't find a connection porb lem either. I had the same thing happen on a 500 I had and it was the sensor???? That is why i figured it probaly was the same thing on this one. Just weird because as you said it's almost as if something came loose on the trailer but can't find anything loose.

Those Hall Effect sensors are bad for quiting without notice. Mine died 3 years ago, the speedo is just not important enough for me to buy another sensor for $80. The only thing that works on a speedo without a wheel sensor is its lights and hourmeter.

I replaced my hall sensor because I did not like how the bike died when I went in reverse without the override button pushed. When the speed reads too high, the bike senses you are going to fast and cuts out.......You could try cleaning the sensor and the brake rotor to see if maybe it just got dirty.

I still need to push the yellow reverse overide button even with a bad Hall sensor.
