Default looking for a good gear oil

I have a 400 Suzuki Eiger and I am looking for a really good gear oil for my transmission as well as my front and rear differential. I do a fair bit of rock climbing as well as mudding. So if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

thanks

First Welcome! A good upgrade in oil would be synthetic like those found from Red Line or AMS oil. Either way you cant go wrong!

I generally run Redline, a group 5 synthetic. Really, if you use any GL5 rated gear oil and change it every couple years, you are ahead of what most folks do.

I change mine once a Season! So I am WAY Ahead of many folks For the $7 the Valvoline Semi BLend 80W90 I use costs - I think it is super cheap insurance! Especially since a bottle will last 2 changes.

Once this bottle is done I am switching over to full synthetic

Yeah, a lot of people never change the oil in the axles, and won't have a problem for a long time.

As long as you don't play submarine and end up with milky oil, changing it at all with anything rated GL5 will probably keep the final drives good for the life of the machine.

I mainly use Redline because the AAM axles in my truck call for full synthetic, so I have it on hand. I'll also use it in the BMW's transmission and final drive.

I use Full synthetic 75W-90, don't get blends there lucky to have 10% synthetic and cost almost as much.
Your tranny takes gear oil and does not use the engine's motor oil?

I agree, I have about 1 more quart of the Blend oil to use before I go full synthetic in gear boxes!

You mean me? Yeah, the BMW uses a dry clutch and the engine and transmission are separate. The engine runs in 20W50, where the transmission takes 75W90, as does the final drive.
