300EX reverse procedure?
#1
I own a 300ex. And all I do is hear the mags whine and cry about the reverse procedure, "it is to complicated" "you just want to get off and yank it around" Blah blah blah. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put it in reverse. I think they have been slackin off ridin the Utes where they just turn the lever and shift. I can put my 300ex in reverse faster than my friend on his mojave! It isn't that complicated and isn't that hard do ya 300 riders agree with me?

yea,I also agree,no big deal,a freind once told me he modified the clutch for reverse someway that you only had to pull in the main clutch and hit reverse from neutral(he allways used his boot)anyone else heard of this?

Guys:
the problem is not that it is hard to put in reverse...Most people do not like to have to reach over the other side of the quad with their right hand. Impossible...No...Bad design....yes....But totally functionable.

yeah I love reverse on my 250X...
the problem is when it's cold I can't keep my hand on the throttle and reach the reverse lever at the same time... and my quad won't start in reverse, even with the clutch pulled in...
I don't care what the "reverse procedure" is on a quad... as long as there is one, you know?
I use it a lot in tight woods, and to back out of mud holes, snow banks, off of logs, and off of hills I bottom out on....
Reverse is great!

Once you get used to it, it's really easy. You can't tell me the first couple of times you rode the bike that you weren't complaining about how much of a pain in the a$$ it was to put it in reverse.
I put a shifter lever off of a street bike on my 300 to control the reverse. It worked like a champ, I never had to reach down.
