Polaris 300 Xpress hard to pull start
#1
I've been working on a 1998 Polaris Xpress 300 that didn't have spark. After taking care of the spark issue I tried to pull start it. After a couple of minutes of trying to start it, the engine suddenly became difficult to pull past TDC. I took the spark plug out and it pulls with ease, but it is extremely difficult to pull past compression with the plug in.
What could have suddenly plugged up that would cause this to happen?
Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

maybe it has a compression release that is bad, if it has one, ever check compression? if its free when you pull the plug and no scrapping noise like a broken ring,or even your stater drive locked into your flywheel,,,,,,,,,,,that would make both hard,,,,,,,,,,
