Default 05 Arctic Cat 400 wont kick into 4x4

I just bought an 05 Cat 400 4x4. I was putting my jetskiis in my lake and went to pull the trailer out and noticed my 4x4 wasnt working. My back tires will spin but nothing in the front. When i switch it from 4x2 into 4x4 i can hear it make a noise like it is kicking into 4x4 (I think its the servo?) but I get no power to the front wheels?

Anyone have any suggestions of what it might be?

Cool

Sounds like maybe the little plastic gear(s) in the front servo are stripped. If this is the case the electric motor will make the "ZRRRRP" noise....but the stripped gear won't engage the front diff fork to "engage" the 4x4.

my .02¢

as cups stated that is usually what happens. The actuator broke on the inside. From what i remember you need the whole piece. you can't rebuild it. make sure your front drive shaft turns when you drive. it will turn whether your in 4wheel drive or not. This is just to make sure its not an issue with your drive line/shaft.

Check you front drive shaft the boot up front on the imput of the differential, if the boot clamp broke or the boot slid back, the front drive shaft is not connected. I am still trying to see if some one will answer my post on this problem.

I ended up taking the quad in, the guy said some kind of spring broke and the drive shaft is spinning but it is not engaging in the transfer case. Something like that, I didnt talk much to him about it I just told him to fix it.
