leaky carb

leaky carb
I bought my first used cat a 06 4x4. It's got push button 4or 2 drive. The carb . I am new to these beasts and treat them like my kids. So when I bought it I checked compression. Brakes rode it for about 5 min. And loaded it. Because of the leaky carb. I cleaned the carb needle seat and main needle jet. I cleaned every nook and cranny . It's leaking from the drain screw.I know it serves dual purposes, thanks to the people on this site and artichat. So before I put it back together again I checked the drain screw function that actually drains the bowl. Installed a inline fuel filter from tank to carb. And checked the float seat simply by blowing through the gas inlet and flipping carb in hand upside down. My question is this, can the primer pump on the right side of the carb have any thing to do with the carb still leaking? Also if I have to replace the carb what model is mine? It's a 2006 400 4x4 shaft from front to back. Manuel trans I dnt believe it has a belt. Lighted digital Speedo. Disc brakes. I noticed a couple online but I don't know. I appreciate your time and knowledge. Thanks

You can't visually inspect a carb float needle for wear. Just install a carb kit and go from there. Yes the drain screw leads to the bowl, plus this hole at the bottom of the carb also incorporates the overflow. Even if the float level is set right,a worn needle and seat can cause it to leak and overflow.http://www.ebay.com/itm/REPLACEMENT-CARB-REBUILD-REPAIR-KIT-ARCTIC-CAT-400-FIS-2X4-2004-400-4X4-04-05-06-/231233046828?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d690492c&vxp=mtr
