Default 05 AC 250 carb mounting question

I removed the carb from a 05 250 4x4 to jet it for high altitude, and I'm now second guessing about the position carb goes back on where it contacts the rubber intake pipe. It seems that the intake has a little rubber nub on the carb side sticking out of it. That looks as if it is used the line the carb up to the engine. My question is.... Does the carb on the 250 sit in a 12:30-1:00 clocked position? I always thought that the carb should sit perpindicular to the ground so that the fuel in the bowl would be level. Can someone look at their 250 and let me know if the top of their carb is kinda clocked to the right? Thanks

Welcome to the forums derrengee....

You're right the carb should mount straight up an down /12:00 position on a 4 stroke engine , if it was in 12:30 or 1:00 O'clock position it just wouldn't run ; just try tilting it over on it's side and see what happen's ! (just a little humor)
