I need to gain access to the battery in order to install an accessory. What is the easiest way to get access to the battery so that I can make terminations to it? It seems like I would need to remove the front cargo box to gain easy access? Is this correct and if so, is it just a matter of unbolting the cargo box and removing it, or is there more to it? Any comments appreciated.

It can be done without taking the box or front right tire off. I recommend taking off the tire though. I did install a winch myself and have long arms so I did it without taking off the tire. Also, don't have any rings or anything metal on your fingers. It is tight in there. I managed to get my wedding ring between the battery post and the engine. Owww. I burned my finger so bad I lost about an 1/8" of skin where the ring made contact with the engine.
