no spark on a 110cc
#1
Hi i have a 110cc Chinese mini hummer that i got from my friend it needed a wiring harness cause he screwed up the old one by rednecking things when it would short out and stuff so i spent $50 on a new wiring harness... but i noticed one of the wires on the rectifier was off so i put it back on and put the cdi on got spark then i go to start it it loses spark so i check the connections i made... checked for spark.... no spark again then i put a new coil on... still no spark...it keeps getting spark and losing spark.. but i was wondering if it the safety tether thats the problem or not? someone please help

You can test the tether by if you follow the tether wire it'll come to a connector. Just disconnect it. The switch when pushed is open and when the tether comes off it's shorts those 2 wires. Well at least on my 110 mini hummer

Parker955's advice is 100% correct. Disconnect the switch and see if that solves your problem.
If not, then use a meter to measure the tether switch connector wire resistance between pins. Tether plug *must* be on. Do this after setting all kill switches to the run position, and turn on the ignition switch. Yours should read open (infinite resistance). What do you measure? If it is zero ohms (short) to ground then there are kill switch issues to solve. If the connection is open then we need to go down a different path.
