chinese 50cc coil problem

Default chinese 50cc coil problem

hi everyone, im in need of some help please. just bought new 50cc chinese quad ( pull start). wouldnt start. NO SPARK. company shipped me a new CDI unit . STILL NO SPARK. Help. Also what is the gap supposed to be between the CDI and the flywheel. I was told the thickness of a business card !!

What kind (brand) of quad? Do you have a link to a web site showing this quad? Does your CDI look like either of these two CDI's, or is it something completely different?

I'm assuming you mean gap between the trigger pickup coil and the flywheel? If so, the gap should be set when the raised bump on the flywheel is under the pickup coil. The gap is usually 0.025", so a business card sounds about right.

thanks for your reply. Sorry about the delay we have been away for a few days. the cdi is completely sea;led. the brand is LEI ???????. However , after alot of mucking around with the spacing gap to the flywheel I have managed to get it going, and my 5 year old and his mates refuse to get off it now.tha ks again for your help and I appreciate the quick response.
