Default TBlzr Spark Arrestor

i've done a search on the Polaris forum and couldn't find any info. my 2001 250cc TBlzr has a regular muffler. there are no screws in the end at the tailpipe like my Honda. (the end of the muffler would look like it has an insert for baffles, correct?) i presume i need to replace the whole thing so i can put a spark arrestor with muffler on, correct? new rules are forthcoming for public lands, i'm trying to get a head start.

Ok, after looking at microfiche for my TBlzr, it appears that the muffler has a spark arrestor inside. all in one assembly. i presume this to be true just judging from the microfiche. if anyone can confirm or deny this, that'd be fine. i'm going with what the microfiche states. thanks again.

Odd design for sure. You do have to replace up to the headpipe, and not just the muffler like other models.

I have heard of other people using the system off a 400 blazer on the 250s. Someone may be able to give you more specific information as to which years will and won't work on that swap.

If you're wanting to stay stock, or upgrade for that matter, some good prices are on ebay.

Just stay away from DG. They are absolute crap for these machines.

If you look at the 400 system, it has what I'd call a more conventional set up.

You may even want to call Rick at Ritter Cycle and see what he says about the 400 system. If I recall correctly, he said you could get some aftermarket pipes and use the stock 400 muffler. Still get the boost and be quieter than an aftermarket.
