Default Reversed battery polarity on Sportsman 400

I reversed the polarity when installing a new battery in my Sportsman 400. The display is now dead, nothing happens when you turn the switch, and there is a burnt electrical smell.

I know I should have had my glasses on when connecting the battery ...... dumb.

Any idea what I wrecked?

Gary

welcome to the forum. start by tracing wire (battery) to see how far power is going. you may have an inline fuseable link in between the battery and starter. will it pull start? what year is the bike?

It's a 2004. The spedo display does not light up. Can not pull start.
