I have a 98 blaster that i told my freind i would rebuild and everyday i hear new things from him but the piston blew apart and there some metal that made it to the crankcase but i have the engine up side down and when I rotate the engine it like it wants to lock up and it in same spot every time it comes out of it just takes more force just wondering if any one know whats goin there

Ewwww.... Doesn't matter what we think. You'll find out when you rip the thing apart which sounds inevitable. Not alot to the little blasters, I've had one apart. Check all your bearing while you in there. They are a bit of a pain to come up with but, usually not bad idea to change them.

Here's a really nice engine rebuild step-by-step to peruse.... Might help you along nicely.

yea im kinda not wanting to tear it completely down cause i work on trucks 40 hours a week and i thought it was goin to be an easy thing and was goin to have some fun with the quad but it turned bad fast and he doesnt want to buy any parts so im kinda stuck

Sounds like the best thing to do then, would be put as much back together as possible, and hand it back to the guy who owns it so he can deal with it.... you can't fix anything without the commitment to purchase the needed parts.
