Default LT80 Carb Question

I soaked the carb (except plastic/rubber parts) in Berryman's for 24hours and boiled it. The engine runs fine but is difficult to start. I'm forced to hand choke it if it is cold.

Removed the carb today and everything is clean except the reservoir on the side of the bowl that the choke pulls fuel from. I can't seem to get air to pass through it in either direction.

I assume this would have to be open if the choke is supposed to pull fuel from the bowl for a rich mixture. It seems to make sense that this reservoir being plugged would require hand choking to get it rich.

Anyone else have this problem? How did you get this reservoir unplugged?

I soaked the bowl again last night and I couldn't get 120psi through the reservior/hole.

I'm tempted to use a drill bit down this hole, careful not to drill too far of course. Does anyone know what is at the bottom of this hole? I can see what appears to be brass with a tiny hole in it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes the hole inside the bowl should be opened up for fuel to be pull thru the brass tube into curcuit to cold start.. Prolly need to soak bowl in berryman and keep blowind air thru it and soak some more it will finally get open... Good Luck...

Used a very small drill bit and a couple of turns by hand opened up the hole. I can't really explain it but it now fires right up without even choking.
