Default 08 Sportsman 800 Parking???

I notice whenever I'm riding the wheeler and I come to a complete stop to shift into park it seems to go into gear but then I have to rock the wheeler just a little and it falls all the way into park is this normal? and has anyone else discovered the same thing?

Not familiar with the 800 ,put if it was a 500 id say it just needs a touch of a turn on the linkage rod adjuster between the shifter and tranny.

Check for any slop in the shifting mechanism. Sometimes the aluminum piece that the rod goes into (attaches to shaft on the tranny) gets worn. Also, I had hard shifting problems(mostly in the cold) that I found was due to a crappy sealing job from the factory. They only use a small bit of silicone on the shifter housing located on the tranny. I pulled it off, made a gasket, sealed both sides with anaerobic schmoo, and lubed the cogs inside before putting it back together. Goes through the gears now like a hot knife in butter! Also, are you stepping on the rear brake going in/out of park and high? Supposed to make a difference.

I always pull the front brake or step on the rear brake before shifting into park.......

If using the brake then I would check the stuff mentioned. Made all the difference in the world on my 09.
