Default radiator relocation project

Anyone else do this on their own here??

I have an 06 sportsman 800 and Im tired of the "hot" flashing after some good muddy rides. In theory its simple, more hose, more wire for fan, build a bracket relocate the overflow container, play in mud with 1 less worry.

Sounds good?? What am i missing?? Is the overflow supposed to be lower than rad or even with it, is there not going to be enough pressure in the system to get the fluid up another 18"? None of the aftermarket kits say anything of the like and cant fine too many "How to" posts. Is there anything I need to know that will hurt the bike in anyway?

Thanks for any info.

I just order a radiator relocation kit from Rubberdown customs. I should have it tomorrow. I can let you know what is in it.

Don't worry about it, water flow will be fine, overflow tank will be ok, system is pressurized anyway, just use good quality hose, double hose clamp if possible, have the screw part of the clamp 180* to each other and call it good.

It sounds like you've got it. My kit was a bracket, hose, fan wire, and hardware to mount it all up.

What kind of hose?? did u move the overflow tank up to radiator or leave it as is? Trying to find a way up with the hose w/out cutting a hole in top rack lid but looks tough to run all those 90 elbows in it. Oh well plan on having this thing for a while so if it works as supposed to and not too pretty oh well.
Post some pics when u get yours done, I will try to keep a pic log of mine and then post them here.
Thanks

1" heater hose. I plan to run the hose out past the winch, so that I don't have to cut holes in my lid.
