4x4 not engaging on 95 Xplorer
#1
I just got my wheeler from father in law and a few yrs ago I used it and I didnt have 4 dig in forward, but when I was in reverse I did...now I have no 4x4 at all and the nuetral light stays on all the time and the reverse light dont work either....thinking its the switch in gear selector assembly, but dont want to blow 90.00 if I dont have to, that and cant really afford it...Is there a way to bypass the switch if I want 4wd???

Your AWD light has to work for the AWD to work ,its part of the circuit that sends power to the hubs. Does the AWD light on the 2wd/AWD swtitch/button come on?
I was thinking the speedo but in 95 the speedo had nothing to do with the AWD like they do now.

Thanks TLC!...So what about the reverse light and nuetral lights not working?...Something tells me that its that switch...found a way to bypass it, but first need to get a new battery before I can do anything as far as trouble shooting goes!...If I just want to hook up to a marine battery for now to trouble shoot it, will I need to hook up all wires that normally get hooked up on battery or just the little ones not for the starter?

The neual light and reverse light work of the postioning swtich at the tranny, I can see that also causing AWD proplems because the Polaris ATVs are never in AWD if the ATV is in reverse unless the yellow overide button is held down while riding backwards.
