my right front lasted only 45hrs, it's the factory seal. i just thought it would last longer, also the rear brakes were wornout at 32 hrs. i know, if you play in the mud you'll pay in $$$$$$$.

Harold, it is usually just a peice of grass or other debris jambed up into the seal. If you catch it right away you can often get away with dis-assembling, cleaning and re-assembling the hub. If not the seal is under $10 bucks. Don't let your dealer scare you hub dis-assembly and re-assembly is not difficult. Just make sure you lay out the parts in the order they come out. Also watch the bearings they like to head for the floor when you pull the hub off.

If the wear sleeve has a groove in it you had better replace it or you will be doing it over again soon. Thats another $24. Tried to get by on my old 500 Xplorer and had to do it again in about 100 miles.

One other thing you can do, press the seal in about .0020 further than the stock. This will let you start a new grove and get more hours before replacing. The whole operation can be done in less than 20 minutes.
