07 Wolverine Fan not coming on
#1
Hey guys, I am having a problem and would like to get advise on where to start before I do it.
My bike has been overheating. I come to find out that that fan is now coming on to cool the bike down. What should be the first thing I check and how can it be done.
thanks guys in advance.

I had the same problem on my 04 Yamaha Kodiak 400. I am assuming their cooling systems work similarly. With that said, you should have a temp sensor in the back of your radiator that signals the fan to run once your bike hits around 180 degrees. You can pop the wiring connector off that sensor and use a piece of wire to jump the two pins in the connector. Start your bike and jump the pins. If the fan turns on, the sensor is bad. If the fan doesn't turn on, the fan itself may be bad. Plug the sensor back in and unhook the connector the powers the fan (again a two wire connector). Run two wires directly from the battery or use a battery charger to directly power the fan. This should make the fan run. If it doesn't the fan junk. If it does make the fan run when it wouldn't run by jumping the temp sensor, there is also a circuit breaker up under the plastic in the front that I would check last. So, 1st jump the temp sensor, 2nd hard wire the fan, 3rd check the circuit breaker.
