I've got an 02 Beartracker. When I hit the starter button the engine turns but if it dosen't fire right up, like when its cold, it sounds like the starter bendix disengages but keeps spinning. I swapped starters thinking it may be an armature problem, but it does the same thing. Looking at the schematics there is a gear that the starter hits and that gear ties into a larger gear on the crank shaft. If I tear it down which gear is likely to the problem. Is anyone familiar with this type of problem?
