Default Metal pieces drained from 2003 SP 700 Tranny

Can anyone tell me what these metal pieces that came out of my tranny when I drained the oil are? Are they the pieces of the wave springs, that go between the engagement dogs?
They were a bent up when they came out, so I straitened them a little.

If you look at the parts diagram on ronnies .com it looks like #48 which is a shim

Yeah maybe, I thought it would be hard for the wave spring (#26) to get all the way down to the drain plug.

That shim is up against a bearing, wonder if the bearing would be damaged now? Can I pull the side case off without disconnecting the drive shafts. By just taking the bolts out and sliding it over the shaft? Then I could see if is the shim or not.
