04 ranger 500 wont start

have a 04 ranger 6x6 500 have fuel spark but no compresssion some people have told me there may be a problem with the compression release. i have no clue about it any ideas or info would be of great help

so you checked the compression and have none? The compression release is on the cam shaft, have to remove valve cover to see if its all there, check cam lobes while your in there

ok will have to do that. are they known to be a problem? know of any where i might get a pic or diagram of the parts?

never really heard of a compression release causing no compression at all, just lowers it for startup. cams on the older 500 motors were notorious for wearing the exhaust lobe off.
