Do all 800 Sportsman come with factory duel mufflers or did some of them come with a single muffler.

 

welcome to the forum. it depended on the year and model(ie. delux) most all of the 06' models and maybe 08'(not 100% on the 08') and the delux models in 07" had dual exhaust.

 

What was the difference between the deluxe and the regular model?

 

Why did Polaris change from dual exhaust to single? Any negatives or positives to speak about or just looks?

 

The dual exhaust was all for looks because it isn't a true dual system. The left side is fed by a crossover pipe off the right muffler. There are a few decent aftermarket single systems that give a very small hp gain. I have yet to see one form 05 and up with a factory single exhaust. HSP makes the best sounding true dual exhaust for them. No gains but sounds awesome!

 

about the only gain i saw between the single vs dual was the dual sounded better in the stock set up and it did look better. one of our members actually put true dual;s on and said he lost power instead of gained. imo

 

the white bros muffler did add some bottom end was noticable but also made them louder even with quiet core
