Default Timberwolf top end rebuild

I hate to ask yet another question here but I have no where else to go

Anyways...my 95 timberwolf is developing lots of odd noises in the top end lately. There is a pinging noise as I start moving, a whirring noise in the top end that sounds like air leaking, and when I give it gas it sounds like the valves are going to blow into a million pieces.

I checked the valve clearance and the intake valve was a little tight. I adjusted it and still no change. I'm wondering if I should rebuild the top end on this? To my knowledge the previous owner never bored out the cylinder. So aside from new piston, rings, boring it over, and a gasket set what else is required? My valves sound like an antique sewing machine so I want to make sure when I break into the head that I solve that problem to.

IMO I would crank up engine while value covers are off or take the oil line loose trom head to see if oil pump is working or to see if oil filter is correctly first, may not be oiling good enuff to quiten down cam and value area..Also if got to tear down look for overheat marks in head cam, bearings, rockers, check cam chain tenision before you release can chain tensionor to make sure the chain is in god shape........
