stock carb mod question..snorkels

Default stock carb mod question..snorkels

can i just cut the stock snorkels shorter to along side the carb rather than buy sump pump hose and start getting crazy and get a similiar effect..i have no clue how to do anything as many of you know..

Or just zip-tie them on the outside of the frame out of the way but not up under the tank cover...

Here is how I ran mine for the best results when I was running a stock carb with the OMR mods. I think OMR had moving the tube deeper into the air box in his instructions.

You could do the same with the stock tubes.

thanks for pic..ill try that..what do i do with the hose from crank case that connect to the left snorkel tube?

and the 2 black hoses that come off top of carb and come together to go under gas tank..read i should extend them down under carb or should i leave them?

What is the effect of removing the tubes all together? My bro's DS has them removed and it seems to run pretty good.

my understanding is with out tubes the air comes in with out direction and crashes into each other and you loose flow..so if you move tubes further back you control the flow from rear to front into filter with less disturbance ...therefore getting better performance...

these are basically street bike carbs,your only gonna be able to do so much with them.A cv carb has never came on a comp or high performance machine only play bikes like raptors predators and our ds.Kinda hard to polish a turd.
