Default Body Plastic woes...

Howdy All,

Anyone know of a fix for the broken mounting tabs on the body plastic for my 2006 Sportsman 500? Thinking about epoxy, but will not work on some plastics so hoping someone else has tried successfuly to repair this issue in the past.

Ton of cash to replace the whole rear section so wanting a fix.

I've used the two-part epoxy on motorcycle plastic and had good results. Not sure on what the cost would be but you could check around to see if there's any places in your area that do the plastic welding. Ebay would be a good place to look for plastics if you end up having to replace them.

I would also try the JB Weld. Had good success on my son's Renegade with it.

Had not thought of that and I am thinking that is the best option as a starting point. Did you use the airless one?

Well thanks for all the advise and final outcome was...

Bought a 20.00 airless plastic welding kit and followed instructions as well as watched a fix on youtube....

Fired that puppy up and in about 20 minutes had all broken plastic repaired!

Plastic welder is the way to go for body repairs and saved me allot of $$ over replacing the part
