Default Help needed with 2001 Polaris 325 Magnum 4x4 Cooling Fan issue

I was having a problem with the cooling fan of my 2001 Polaris 325 Magnum 4x4 not coming on. I took it to get repaired and replaced both the heat sensor and the thermistor. The fan still does not come on. The mechanic said he had an identical atv he was working on with the same issue. Does anyone know at what temperture the cooling fan is supposed to turn on at? Any thoughts as to why the cooling fan will not turn on with a new thermistor and heat sensor? Are there any knows issues with this 2001 polaris cooling fan? Any and all input appreciated. Thanks

welcome to the forum. guessing around 200- 210 degrees when it kicks on. are you sure the fan works meaning has it been tested by running direct power too it? does the bike over heat before the fan kicks on?

Is the bike overheating? The 325's are more or less an air cooled engine with an aux. oil cooler. It was "VERY" rare for the fan to kick on with my 02 325 magnum. It had to be very hot ambient air temp and working it hard to get the fan to come on. I often thought something was wrong but never over heated it. I did have the oil cooler packed with mud once and the fan ran a little on and off but still very little for the conditions and temps I was riding in.

Has to get hotter in hell for the fans on the oil cooled machines to kick on! Some people have never had em kick on. My opinion fans not needed. OPT

Thanks for the insight... I did hook up the fan directly to 12 volts and the fan works. As far as I know the temp light has not come on before and the bike has never really over heated. The mechanic I took it to put a temperature gauge on the engine and the engine got up to about 300 degrees and the fan did not turn on. Seems like it maybe should have. Just trying to make sure this is normal or if there is anything else I could do. Thanks.

This is normal on the 325 and 330 oil cooled machines! I've had a lot of people concerned about the fan over the years! I even had em on my lift running in the shop and have tested em on our track behind in the back, but can't remember if i ever had a fan come on! If ones going to come on,its gonna do it with me the way I tested em! Not harshly, but trying to simulate riding conditions, plus after riding I would let them idle for a while, still no fan, even with new oil cooler sensor. Oil cooler in my opinion is the best thing for this machine and all it needs! Look at some of the other brands with oil coolers,a lot don't have fans. OPT
