Default 2004 polaris 700 sportsman vibration

I have a 2004 polaris 700 sportsman with a strange vibration. It runs great when you excelerate past a 1/4 throttle, but at an idle and just as you give it gas it vibrates kind of rough. Does anyone know what could cause this, or is that normal. I've never had a atv thats ever done that before, but I've never owned a v twin atv either so I am not sure.

welcome to the forum. first thing is your 700 is not a V twin as polaris doesn't make any V twins yet. how many miles on it? does it run smoothly or erraticly when idling? wondering if maybe the primary clutch has issues which is throwing the engine out of balance causing vibrations.

You might check the front motor mount for separation, could be causing engine to flex which in turn affects the clutch alignment. May be the cause of the vibration. 700 and 800's did this from time to time.Or it can be a worn spot on the belt, have had this happen several times. OPT
