Default lt80 carb/reed question

i know there is an o'ring between the carb and the spacer, but is there supposed to be another o'ring between the spacer and the reed cage? seems like i have a groove for one, but its not there, and the parts breakdown's dont show it

I've never seen one rot. I suppose if it was exposed to carb cleaners or the like long term it could happen.
I bet if you put a bead of silicone in place of the oring (and let that harden before install), it'd be OK.
If it's tight and not moving around, all's well right.
