Default Sportsman fender protection

Is there something I can put on the fender edges of my 08 Sportsman 800 Touring for rub protection? My fenders are already scratched all to pieces because of the trails I ride, but I'd like to find something that I can "cover" them, provide protection, AND do it without increasing the width of the machine. Some of the trails I ride I barely fit through as it is. I can't make the bike any wider.

i know they use some sort of clear tape( it's not really tape) on cars by the fender flares for dirt sand blasting form tires. had it on a cople of vehicles i had and it worked good. try going to an auto parts store that can sell body repiar materail and see if they have something. just a thought.

A buddy of mine has a patriot blue sportsman with the same issue. He took a little time and masked off the edges of his plastics leaving 2-3" of the edge exposed and coated it with hurculiner. Now it looks like a black pin stripe down each side of the bike. Actually looks really good.

That's kind of what I was thinking (Line-X actually), but wondered if it would be flexible enough to keep from breaking when rubbing on trees.
