Default LT80 no drive/seized

Hi,
I've got a 1998 lt80 which I've had from new, about 5 years ago it lost drive, it still runs fine (once the batteries charged) and revs away nicely but the rear axle won't turn, or will only turn for a short period and then jam again even if your trying to push it around.

so its been sat in a shed for the past 5 years in the meantime passed my driving test, been off to uni, and discovered alchol, now I'm back home from uni and such like I've seen it sat there and would quite like to get it up and running again so i can have one last little bit of fun round the farm on it, and then pass it onto someone else more than likely!

so any advice on what the problem could be would be much appreciated!

thanks very much

Nick

Welcome to the forums farmer nick.
I think the chain is froze up. If not that, the rear end bearings.
I'm betting on the chain.

thanks for the reply lt80!

it was running fine i left it ticking over with the parking break on, took the parking break off and had no drive/ a seized back axle...does that still sound like a frozen chain?

thanks for your help

Nick

Ok, I'm taking this as, it's been sitting for 5 years and now you want it going.
The above quote makes me unsure.
Has it ran (rolled) in 5 years?

Anyways, you need to get in to it. Remove the chain as it'll be rusty and such, then you can see if the rear axel turns. If it's been sitting, I suspect the brakes are froze onto the brake drum.

check 'er out.

Plus one brakes stuck! Sounds like the rear brake shoe has came apart an locking the axle up!!!
