Yamaha Breeze HELP NEEDED!!!
#1
I was just given a 1989 125 Breeze for my kids. It was not running when i got it. I tore the carb off and soaked and cleaned it top to bottom. I got it running but.... I can only get it started on starting fluid and i need to keep my thumb on the throttle to keep it running. The idle races every once in a while while trying to keep it running. Any info would be greatly appreciated as my kids cant wait to ride this thing...

First make sure your carb is getting gas to the inlet. My guess is that is not a problem.
If you need to give it a shot of ether to keep it running the carb is not clean yet. I would tear it down and look it over and clean it one more time.
About the racing issue. You need to take the choke off of the carb and clean the bore and slide. If it sticks it will add fuel and air and this will make the engine RPM. Clean it up and make sure the slide is free and this will end this issue.

Your idle jet is clogged. save the hassle of clearing it, its too small. Go to the dealer and get one size up from stock. Make sure you have fresh gas in the tank. Could also be a bad float. Try the jet first. Or since you have the carb apart, replace both.
