Default Eton viper shifting ??? Can I lock into forward

I have a 2005 eton viper 90 2 smoke. I bought in cheap from a guy that said it just died one day and won't restart. I have it running but It doesn't always shift from F-N-R. It is stuck in neutral. Sometimes you can hear it other times no. Is there a way I can lock it or manually put it into to forward and leavr it there. I can just remove the switch. Thanks for the help guys.

I was into one of those.
Yes, I feel you can take the cover off, find the problem and leave it in gear if need be.

I think if you go to e-tons web site and look you can find something about that my daughter had an 06 and I remember reading about that problem.

Hey everyone! I am new to this thread and have a couple of questions. I bought a 2005 E-TON Viper 90r and it starts up. When I put it into F or R it sometimes dies. When in neutral I can throttle it but it still seems like it wants to cut out.

Second, when in gear and it doesn't die it won't move hardly at all. It seems like it wants to and will bounce forward a little bit and then stops and moves a little again. It seems it will move a little better in reverse but still really doesn't go. I have moved it maybe 10 feet at best. What would be the first thing to maybe look at? I thought it might be the final drive on the transmission but didn't want to tear into it yet incase someone had this same experience and it wasn't the problem. Thanks in advance for helping me out!

Welcome to the forums.
It sounds like the carb needs cleaning.
