New replacement pulse generator only has a place for one wire old one has two!!!!!!!
#1
I searched the internet and this site as well as others but I found nothing on this problem. I have a 86 TRX250 fourtrax. I bought it not running. replaced CDI, Coil, and spark plug. It ran good for a few weeks and quit. I did the electrical checks per manual and the pulse generator is a little out of spec. I ordered a new one online and when I received it, It only has one male spade connection and my old one has two round barrel connections. The new part is a replacement part for several pulse generators of that era. I need to know how to rewire the two wires. One is blue with yellow stripe and the other is green with white stripe. My guess was the blue w/y is the main one that will go to the spade but I don't know what to do with the green w/w wire. One thing to add, after I took the side case off, I looks as though the starter gears had came loose at one point in time and nicked the flywheel up a bit on the outside and the little tab, I filed the burrs down. It didn't have any starter gears in it when I got it??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help!!! "T"
