Question Eng problem

Bought kids last winter 2005 330 trail boss. Oil cooler line started leaking oil. Son pulled over. Replaced lines with updated oil lines. Eng would not start. Cranks over but no start. Eng finally started. Will not run without choke on. Know very little about engines on these machines. Eng i believe is a four stroke due to oil cooler lines & having to fill crank case with oil. Crank case was emplty when son came off off trail. I know that 2 cycles if loose compression will not run. Help. Doug

First thing is to check compression. Should be greater than 100 psi or possible piston seizure from lack of oil? Had the same thing happen on a few early 325 Trail Bosses.Empty crank cases, blown or leaky lines! Sure its a 330? The updated lines were for the early 325 engine with compression adapters at the oil pump delivery and return line at the filter area and still had the barb fittings and clamps on the oil cooler. Stayed the same until 2008 when both lines had compression fittings on both ends and the oil cooler had changed to accommodate the fittings. Any way check the compression, hopefully he stopped it in time. Good luck OPT
