I have not drove my arctic cat 650 v twin for a couple of years, i decided to take it apart and paint frame, after doing so and putting it back together when i turn the key all the way on i can shift from 2wd to 4wd then i turn the key to the acc side it goes back to 4wd automatically and i can not shift it to 2wd. is this normal, I dont remember it like that but its been awhile please help thanks.

 

That doesnt sound normal, but I'm not sure what would cause that problem

 

ok, just out curiosity i cut the plug out and wired each wire with separate plugs, if i leave one ground wire off the it does not go back to 4wd nor does not switch when the key is turned to the acc position but works fine when key is turned all the way on.

 

leaving a ground wire off means your not completeing the circuit, just means the problem is there still
