Default Need Help ID Kids Quad

OK so I got this quad from a friend with no key and no spark. I have voltage coming from magneto going to CDI box but nothing coming out. No spark with kill switch unplug or plugged in. Leads me to bad CDI box since he said it was running then died and wouldn't restart.

Now neither of us have any idea what brand it is or where to get a 6 wire CDI box for it. It has 4 loose wires and a oval 2 pin plug. It's a 2 stroke 50cc.

Any ideas on what brand it is or where to head for the CDI box. Also the electric choke is missing off the carb so I was going to just block that off for now.

looks like a eton. Look for the Vin plate in the front of the bike, near the steering stem.

This model here has both electric and kick start. Horizontal engine. CDI has 6 wires on it and bolt to chassis with 2 mounting bolts on the top edge.

Does anyone have a good link on how to test the CDI box to see if it's good or if it's something else?

You use a ohm tester for the CDI/coil/stator.
You'll need to find out the specs tho.
Maybe Lynn Edwards can help.

Yeah Does anyone have any general CDI specs that I can compare to and see if mine are close? Or would that not be close at all?

I'm completely unfamiliar with two stroke engines. We can try to go at this from scratch though. SOme principles are universal...

1) How many wires on your CDI? What are the colors? If your CDI attaches to the main harness via short pigtail wires coming out of the CDI module itself then ignore those colors. Report the colors in the main harness wires that connect to the CDI.

2) How many wires com out of your stator? What are the colors (again on the main harness side of any pigtail wires)?

You'll need a meter in the next steps of course...
