Default Lt80 help needed.

New to forum but have been lurking a while. A lot of great info. Thanks! I have an 03 and an 05. The 03 is new to me and im having a hard time with it. It sat for a while so I bought a new battery. Rebuilt the carb and cleaned out tank and petcock. It was turning over but now the starter relay just clicks. I's not the relay because it works fine on the 05. Please any help I could get would be great!

Ok, found the reset switch under rear fender. Still will not start though. Any ideas what to do next?

Got spark?
Plug wet? If not, hand choke it (fingers in front of carb) and see what happens.
Plug wet? if so, it's flooded. WOT till it starts and cleans out.

Ok got it going. Won't stay running for too long without the choke on. I tried playing with the adjustment screw but cannot seem to get it right. Also there seems to be some oil coming through the exhaust. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated!

I checked other posting and found the oil might have something to do with the needle. I rebuilt the carb. The needle hangs off the float. Was there supposed to be some type of gasket below the needle or is the rubber tip on it ok. I didn't see one in the rebuild kit I bought. Anyone????

After reading through the other posts, what is meant by the seat that goes along with the needle? S orry if it's a dumb question but I'm new to all this!

The seat is where the needle contacts. There is no gasket.
All is normal there.
If you can blow thru it, it's usually fine.
I blow thru it and work the float to see if it's working properly.

Ok thanks. I cleaned the carb again and I'm looking to put an inline fuel shutoff on the fuel line. I think my petcock is failing. Autozone doesn't have them so I guess ill keep looking. This forum has really helped!
