Default Cdi

Does it have a Performance cdi? I know that some ATV's don't have any plug and play type performance cdi units available on the market so some guys mod the factory wire harness to adapt to a better performance one which means a few extras wires might remain. Another trick too is I have seen on multiple posts on other sites that a ATV from china ignition retards at full throttle due to poor fuel. To compensate for this in countries that have a good supply of quality fuel will ground, twist together and or modify the factory harness so the timing wont retard so much since our fuel in north america wont pre ignite people will bypass this system. What kind of ATV is it? Might be like my Baja 250 that there is no or at least I can't find a performance cdi to fit the thing. Hope this helps. Does it run fine? Somtimes it's best to leave things alone if all is going well. Good luck

it runs fine but the electric start doesn't work. and i broke the kick start, its a real pain to get the gears aligned for the kickstart to work.it has the stock cdi i ordered a new cdi and coil that connects to the spark plug. to start it now i have to jumpstart it and use a screwdriver to bypass the start solenoid ( i already have a new starter solenoid) i didn't install it yet. i have a charged up battery to so i know its not a battery issue and a good inline fuse.

Green and Black/White connectors in the wiring harness are kill switch inputs. Short these two pins together with a switch and the spark is killed.

A I recall (from previous posts) you have a Hensim 150cc GY6 quad. I have one also. On mine I have a tether cord kill switch mounted on the left front wheel plastic splash guard. I've seen other Hensim quads where there was no tether switch - just a hole in the plastic where it should be, and a coiled up empty connector in the wiring harness.

Black/White and Green, same as yours. This is certainly a tether kill switch connector.

Tether kill switches (and all other kill switches except for the ignition switch) prevent spark. They do not keep the starter from turning.
