Starting problems
#1
Been a while. I was last here because I thought I had a starter issue. I was killing the starter from low voltage ( I am assuming). So I thought battery after a new starter and selinoid. Charged a new battery. The Atv will start with great amperage (assuming again because turnover sounds great.) But if it runs a while and I turn it off, it acts as if the battery is dead. Until I charge the battery to max it will not start. So, I experimented. I started with a fresh battery and disconeccted it. Put it right back on charge. Waited about 15 minutes while the quad was running. Put the battery back in after killing the motor. Again, it acts as if it is dead. Craziest thing I have seen.
Peace 110
Has been submerged briefly in a hole that came up to the intake
Thinking that it has to be electrical due to this. Actuator?? Voltage regulator?? or just some wires??

Wow, I missed this post from several days ago.
If your quad starts and runs off a fully charged battery, and then the battery is dead a short time later then I suspect your voltage regulator is bad. It is not only *not* charging your battery - but it is discharging the charged battery very quickly through your stator battery charge winding.
Does your quad always start if you use humper cables to jump your quad battery to your car? (Take extra care to get the polarity right when you do this).
After the quad starts up on a *fully* charged battery, unplug the voltage regulator, and then ride around for a while (like 1/2 hour) with the headlights off. Turn off the quad and then start it up again. Does it start? This would be another indication of a bad voltage regulator.
