I have a problem when I fill the gas tank near the top. A little gas comes out onto the top of the tank no matter how tight I tighten the cap. I end up smelling gas fumes until. the tank is down at least 1/4 from the top.It has been like this as long as I can remember.Would anyone have a solution for this problem?

 

Welcome! You're either getting gas into the tank vent line under the tank plastic(or tube on vent is loose) and this could be causing the smell or the gas cap gasket itself (# 5812123) needs to be replaced if gas leaks out of the tank. OPT
