TaoTao 150 Idles but won't go
#1
My son has a TaoTao 150 that he had not ridden in a while. So far I have replaced the battery, checked the spark plug (good spark), and added new gas to the bone-dry tank.
Since it would not start, I removed the carb, drained the gas in it, blew it out and cleaned it the best I could without removing the bowl to avoid gasket problems. After reconnecting it all, it started right up when I held my hand over the intake.
I let it warm up but when I open the choke it stopped running. I played with the idle screw setting, which did change the idle speed (choke on), but it will only run with the choke butterfly closed. Throttle makes it hesitate or stop. Very slow throttle does respond a little at first. Any suggestions? I'd guess something is still gummed up.

you need to pull the bowl off and pull the jets and clean them. they're clogged if it is bogging down when giving it throttle. it'll be fine. i pull carb bowls quite a bit when working on other quads and have had ZERO issues with bowl leaks.
