I have a 2005 sportsman 500 HO that maks a rattling noice from the front diff.
Also when i use the button and turn of 4x4 the 4x4 symbol in dash turns off but when i test the quad it spins on all 4.
After what ive read its a "common" problem but i want to ask what parts and mybe partsnumber that i need.
I have not opened the diff yet, i wanted to get the parts first.
Anyone that can help me?
Here in norway i just got told to change the whole diff for 2000 Dollars!!
Its teh cage and since its allready open i will take all the bearings, is there any more parts i need?

Thank you for youre time and answer Polaris Tech, ive now sendt a request to cyclepartswarehouse and will prolly buy the parts from them and hopefully finally get this bike back in shape.

 

Hopefully this fixes the problem,but I would have taken the front diff apart to make sure before I'd order any parts. These two were the most common parts that caused problems,but also don't know if you have access to John Deere parts where you're at,but some people on the forum have used them in place of the Polaris parts. Some have said they were aluminum roll cages,some said a harder plastic material than the oem Polaris roll cages were.
