Default HAVING CARB ISSUES! here are some tips

#1 check your fuel tank cap rubber gasket
remove the gasket and apply a film of lithium grease to both sides and then re-install
the oils in the lithium grease help keep the rubber gasket soft and supple
and aids in sealing the fuel tank

#2 replace your older style rubber fuel line with a new synthetic rubber fuel injection hose
( the older style rubber fuel line deteriorates quickly when it comes in contact with the cleaners/ethanol mixed in with gasoline )

#3 switch to a small cyndrical style motorcycle style fuel filter
( these type of fuel filters have a 1 way check valve ,)
when the fuel bowls fills up , the fuel then backs up into the filter , the check valve closes stopping any more fuel flowing through it , until the fuel level in the bowl drops
motorcycles have been using these type of fuel filters for years

#4 keep your fuel line routed away from the engine , even synthetic rubber melts when it contacts hot metal

# 5 position your fuel filter as close to the carbs fuel inlet as possible , any internal parts of the rubber fuel line that deteriorate and separate from inside the rubber fuel line then enter the carb bowl and cause blockage will be minimized

#6 over time , the small choke valve inside the carb body will jam with exposure to heat
periodically remove the choke piston and lubricate it with some 2 cycle oil
you may think your choke is off , but it may actually be stuck in the ON position in the bore

and finally #7 periodically remove the needle plunger and lubricate it
i cannot count how many people i have told to lubricate that part
because that part moves up and down , it does require lubrication now and then
