Default Has anyone heard this sound?

Gents,
I have a 2001 Rubicon and I'm getting error code 6.. I have tried to reset code and have changed sensor but I'm unable to get bike to accept the set up procedure code. Any suggestions? I'm trying to eliminate the angle sensor being my issue etc. The bike runs and moves but never shifts gears. My dash constantly blinks ( D1, D2, ESP) I also have a high whine sound when I press the throttle that sounds like it is coming from directly below the angle sensor.. I'm hoping there is a gear or sprocket that could be causing this. I did a continuity test on the angle harness and heard/got the gears to move.. Knowing this Could this be an angle sensor issue, speed sensor or ECU issue? Any suggestions would help..

Sounds terrible. Not sure what it is though. Can you just replace the AS and see if that solves it? Or remove it and look at it? Also, where is the starter? Could be that too maybe.

i'm not real familiar with the rubicon, but is that your starter right there you pointed at towards the end of the video? if so, here's my thoughts: is the starter hot from revolutions? (bendix stays engaged but not cranking). have you checked for a stuck solenoid that continues to crank the starter and send voltage to the starter even while the quad is running? obviously the starter ain't made to handle those kinds of revolutions thus the armature would vibrate radically until it shells/grenades. pull the starter, then use the ripcord/pullstart and get the quad running and see if that sound disappears. then test the starter outside of the quad to make sure the bendix disengages.

Default Thanks, Jaster94

I was able to reset the Bike today and the Blinking and the sensor problems I was having seem to be resolved. I'm still having this God awful sound coming from the bike though. I'm going to check into the Starter you mentioned. Question? Is the starter being used once the bike has already been started? The sound only happens when throttle is pressed..not at idle.

I would guess whatever is making the noise is there at idle too but you just can't hear it.

a quad, atv, or motorcycle starter is the same as your car or pickup truck starter. it only engages once the voltage is sent from the battery and switch through the solenoid to the starter. once the button is no longer pressed, the circuit opens and voltage ceases to go to the solenoid which makes the starter crank/turn the engine.

oh dude, sounds like a oil starvation issue in the hondamatic. double check your oil level. maybe check the oil pressure too.
